This workshop will be a general overview of the NSF
Career proposal submission process. Faculty from all departments and
disciplines funded by NSF will find it helpful.
If you are unable to register, please feel free to
attend and bring a colleague. There are plenty of seats available.
The ORSP is sponsoring its 6th annual NSF CAREER AWARD WORKSHOP. The purpose is to provide valuable information to faculty submitting a proposal to the NSF Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Program (http://www.nsf.gov/funding/pgm_summ.jsp?pims_id=5262).
NSF’s CAREER Award is prestigious and opens doors for further funding opportunities. This workshop will support faculty in obtaining these awards by giving them knowledge and insight to compete effectively. The workshop is given by faculty for faculty and, in addition to providing valuable information, is intended to help create a network or “community” of CAREER awardees (past, present and future) who can be a source of help and guidance to others seeking these awards.
Dr. Michael Pazzani, VP for Research & Graduate & Professional
Education, will host the workshop.
Dr.
Sylvia Spengler, Program Director - Information Integration &
Informatics (III) Cluster of NSF, will be the guest speaker. Her talk
is titled, "NSF Career Awards: An Overview."
Dr. Monica Devanas from
the Center for the Advancement of Teaching will present broader impacts and
outreach.
