Managers Meeting
The next Business Managers Meeting will be held:

All are welcome to attend and meet the new
director of ORSP, Sheryl Goldberg.
The Business Manager meetings were initiated in 2003 to provide a
forum for training and discussion between central administrative personnel who
perform the pre-award (ORSP) and post-award (DGCA) functions for the university
and business managers and other related personnel who perform research
administration functions for departments. These meetings provide opportunities
to discuss sponsor regulations and university policies and procedures relating
to research administration with an eye towards maintaining a culture of
compliance within the university. If you would like to RSVP or be added to the

Grant Writing Workshop
Core Competencies:
Identifying writing objective and audience; identifying purpose and main points;
organizing content; editing; proofreading: techniques and symbols; organizing
and maintaining information, etc.
This three-hour classroom session is presented by staff who have obtained
numerous grants from federal, foundation, and corporate grantors. This session
will present a broad, introductory overview of grant writing basics such as:

planning, proposal, management
-
outline important steps in
pursuing government and private funding opportunities
-
provide tips for writing
successful applications; provide useful sample materials
-
identify resources for grant
writers.
