| Weaning Standard for Mice |
| The accepted standard for weaning mouse pups is at 21 days of age. If special circumstances require early weaning, this should only be done following consultation with a Laboratory Animal Services veterinarian and ACFC approval. Later weaning, up to 28 days of age, is recommended for some transgenic/knockout strains when pups are small and require a prolonged suckling period. |
