When you register you will select the
type of privileges you would like to
have. Most people who register will be
asking to be principal investigators.
Once you submit the type of privileges
you would like, we will be notified and
our office will determine if the
privileges will be granted. Recently we
modified the system in this manner
because there are certain
qualifications for being a principal
investigator at Rutgers (e.g. faculty
member, RU employee) and therefore,
everyone can not be a principal
investigator.
You can
not submit your protocol until we have
authorized your registration.
This is one of the key reasons why
we are asking people to register as soon
as possible.
We are
very responsive in providing the
appropriate rights.
Some of our researchers would like to
have an
assistance submitting protocols
for them and having access to the
questions asked by the committee. If
you would like this to occur, you can
also have your assistant register. We
do not need to authorize people to be
assistants, and so there is no delay.
After you are given principal
investigator privileges, you can go into
the website and add the person as your
assistant from a listing. You would be
responsible for taking away the
privileges from them, if you change your
mind or they leave the university.
